चेतना · Chetna · Intelligence for every acre
Certification rests on thirty-six months of records an inspector has no practical way to verify. Chetna replaces the register with measurements taken from the soil, signed where they are taken, in a chain that cannot be quietly rewritten.
§1 — What an inspector can actually check
The problem was never dishonest farmers. It is that a truthful register and an invented one look identical on the page.
| Requirement | Paper register | Chetna |
|---|---|---|
| Soil condition over time | Occasional lab tests, months apart | A reading every 30 minutesTwo depths, continuously, all season |
| What went onto the field | Written from memory, often weeks later | Spoken at the moment of applicationTimestamped and signed on the spot |
| That it happened on this plot | Asserted | Checked against the boundaryOff-plot readings rejected on arrival |
| That nothing was edited later | Unknowable | A broken chain is visibleEach entry fingerprints the one before it |
Chetna does not certify farms and does not replace an inspector. It gives both sides the same verifiable record.
§2 — Where the wand reads
Moisture, temperature, pH, conductivity and nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium — read out of the root zone in under a second, alongside an eleven-channel leaf spectrum and a non-contact leaf temperature.
Wand · ESP32-S3 · 7-in-1 probe · AS7341 spectrum · MLX90614 IR
Each reading is signed with a key held in the phone's secure hardware, in the field, offline. A signature added later in an office proves nothing — the gap between the measurement and the record is exactly where doubt lives.
ECDSA P-256 · hardware-backed · chained by SHA-256
§3 — Where the stake lives
The stake is pushed into the ground and left there. It wakes every thirty minutes, records soil moisture and temperature at two depths along with air conditions, and sleeps again — handing over its whole history the next time a phone walks past.
Stake · ESP32-C3 · dual-depth moisture · dual NTC · SHT40 · 2 MB ring buffer
Readings are stored and signed on the phone whether or not there is signal. The queue drains when a connection appears. A farmer is never blocked by a bar that isn't there.
Offline-first · Bluetooth bulk sync · signed firmware updates over the air
§4 — The record
"Applied 200 litres of Jeevamrut on plot 2", said aloud in the farmer's own language, becomes a structured, timestamped, signed entry — without anyone filling in a form. Anything the parser is unsure of is held back for a human to confirm, because acting on a misheard material name could wrongly reset a farm's certification clock.

Field staff and certification inspectors work from one portal — plots, devices, agronomy and evidence.
